Western Energy Alliance employs a highly qualified staff with more than 100 years collective experience.

 

Tim Wigley, President
Tim comes to Western Energy Alliance from PAC/WEST, where he managed the firm’s Washington, D.C. operations. He has extensive experience in educating policymakers on energy, forest management, mining, and manufacturing issues. From 1998-2002, Tim served as the president of the Oregon Forest Industries Council, an organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the interests of industrial forestland owners.

Sarah S. Cornwell, Vice President of Finance & Administration
Sally began doing contract accounting for Western Energy Alliance in April 1993 and joined Western Energy Alliance four years later. Sally has 20 years of experience as a CPA and auditor in private and public accounting. She attended Kansas State University and holds a B.B.A. in accounting from Wichita State University.

Kathleen Sgamma, Vice President of Government & Public Affairs
Kathleen joined Western Energy Alliance in March 2006. Prior to joining Western Energy Alliance, she spent eleven years in the Information Technology sector, including managing the European consulting practice for a software vendor, and three years as a Military Intelligence Officer in the US Army. She holds a BS in Political Science/Defense and Arms Control Studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MS in Information Technology from Virginia Tech.

Susan Fakharzadeh, Vice President of Business Development
Susan joined Western Energy Alliance in February 2010. Prior to joining Western Energy Alliance, Susan spent seven years working in the electronic distribution industry, with roles spanning from strategic marketing to business development. She has also spent time in high-tech business development as well as working in academia as a consultant creating on-line degree programs. A native of the Rocky Mountain west, Susan grew up in Idaho and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, and holds a BA in English and Philosophy.

Spencer Kimball, Manager of Government Affairs
Spencer joined Western Energy Alliance in July 2006. He is responsible for conducting research and assists staff with public relations, advocacy, and other issues. Spencer attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and holds a B.A. in Political Science.

Jon Haubert, Manager of Communications
Joining the Western Energy Alliance team in October of 2008, Jon comes with experience in politics, policy and communications. Prior to IPAMS, Jon worked in Washington D.C. for Congressman Richard W. Pombo (R-CA), former Chairman of the House Committee on Resources, in addition to a private sector lobbying firm. He will be responsible for media relations and community outreach. Jon received his B.A. in Political Science and Minor in History from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Wendy Wollert, Events Coordinator
Wendy joined Western Energy Alliance in April of 2010, and later that fall accepted the role of Events Coordinator. Before joining Western Energy Alliance, Wendy worked for 4 years in a private sector oil and natural gas exploration company as Administrative Director/Executive Assistant; she also contributes the added knowledge of owning and operating a small business in Colorado for 16 years.

Gina Mateo, Administrative Coordinator
Gina joined Western Energy Alliance in August 2011. Prior to joining the Alliance, Gina worked in roles spanning banking and operations to purchasing, as well as managing a small business. Gina is responsible for supporting the entire staff and membership of Western Energy Alliance and brings a high level of attention and excellent support.
