Burgum and Wright Are Top-Tier Picks Trump’s for Energy Agenda
DENVER - Western Energy Alliance today applauded President-elect Trump’s nominations of Governor Doug Burgum as Interior Secretary and Chris Wright as Energy Secretary as a clear signal that the incoming president is serious about reinstituting his successful energy dominance agenda that established the United States as the number one energy producer in the world. Both men are highly intelligent, successful businessmen who will be able to lead their agencies through the technical and bureaucratic challenges and set America back on a course of providing abundant, affordable energy to the world. The Alliance calls on the U.S. Senate to quickly confirm these nominees.
“It is an inspiration to me personally to see such smart, thoughtful cabinet picks,” said Kathleen Sgamma, president of the Alliance. “We and our members have closely worked with Governor Burgum as he’s continued the energy dominance agenda in North Dakota, and we are excited to see him do the same thing for the country. Chris Wright has a special connection as a fellow MIT alum and vocal promoter of the oil and natural gas industry. He has shown how American oil and natural gas is a powerful force for bettering human lives and has carried that message literally throughout the world. He is also able to intelligently discuss how natural gas has helped the United States reduce greenhouse gas emissions while increasing access to clean energy. We are excited to work with these two gentlemen to grow America’s standing as the pre-eminent global oil and natural gas producer. Not only is their agenda good for American jobs, economic growth, and prosperity, but for reducing energy poverty across the globe.”
