DENVER – Western Energy Alliance today submitted public comments to the White House Council on Environmental Quality supporting proposed updates to regulations implementing the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The oil and natural gas trade association requested the proposed rule be expeditiously finalized, with some targeted revisions. The agency deadline is today for public comment letters.
DENVER – In an open letter to 2020 Democratic presidential candidates printed in today’s New York Times, 54 executives from the western oil and natural gas industry forcefully pushed back against months of claims that they are corrupt criminals who should be jailed. The full-page advertisement placed by Western Energy Alliance, an oil and natural gas trade association, responds to statements that have gone unchallenged by Sen. Bernie Sanders, Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Elizabeth Warren by explaining the environmental and life-sustaining benefits of oil and natural gas. DENVER – A group of trade associations representing farmers, ranchers, and energy producers came together today to praise the Trump Administration for completing the relocation of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) from Washington, DC, to Grand Junction, Colo. The groups called the move a major step to bringing public land managers closer to the lands they regulate and urged members of Congress to continue to support the relocation.

DENVER – Western Energy Alliance will testify at a public hearing hosted by the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) on a proposed federal rule to modernize environmental analysis under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The public hearing takes place 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 11th at the Environmental Protection Agency’s Region 8 headquarters in downtown Denver.

DENVER – Western Energy Alliance will testify at a legislative hearing mistitled Fossil Fuel Development: Protecting Taxpayers and Eliminating Industry Giveaways before the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on the Energy and Mineral Resources. The hearing will take place Tuesday, September 24th at 10:00 a.m. ET.
